Solid-top Electric Travel

for players on the go

Solid-top Electric Travel

Starting at $2,498

For players looking for a radical and aggressive sound driven by modern effects units, this is the sitar for you. The solid-wood top is built to eliminate feedback, and the custom-wound humbucker has been designed specifically for the sitar’s tonal characteristics.

100% Handmade

Harry builds every sitar start to finish with care so your instument is built to last and sounds great.

2 year wait

The current wait time after the deposit is paid is 2 years. There are no ready to order sitars or sitars built on spec.

These solid top sitars forego the sympathetic strings (which wouldn’t resonate on a thick wooden top anyways) in order to provide the player with a clean signal purely from the main strings for routing into effects units. This sitar can be a chameleon of sounds depending on how it’s used.

While the exact same size and shape of the archtop travel models, the solid-top electrics are a very distinct, different, and specialized sitar. These cannot be played unplugged. While any of our sitars can be amplified and made “electric” by adding a piezo pickup or microphone, these depend solely on the humbucking pickup and an amplifier for sound, just like an electric guitar. Because of the unique tonal characteristics of the humbucking pickup, this sitar will not sound like a traditional sitar, but something very different. These are built strictly for players who want to go “out there.”
